Box Score 2 AUBURNDALE, Fla. - The Elmhurst baseball team slipped to 5-3 on the season after dropping both ends of a doubleheader to Colby College.
Elmhurst dropped the opening game 12-3 and then lost the night cap 8-4.
COLBY 12, ELMHURST 3 - Colby jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two innings and pulled away for a 12-3 victory.
Dave Wolak recorded two of Elmhurst's six hits in the loss.
Brian Marquis and
Zach Tsiodras each drove in a run in the loss.
Bryan Baker took the loss for the Bluejays, dropping to 1-1 in the process. Baker surrendered six hits and five earned runs over two innings of work. He walked four and struck out one.
COLBY 8, ELMHURST 4 - Elmhurst jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one inning, but Colby used a five-run sixth inning to earn the 8-4 victory.
Joe Kennedy and
Zach Tsiodras led Elmhurst in the loss with three hits apiece. Kennedy scored a pair of runs in the loss.
Dave Wolak, Tsiodras,
Tyler Wargo and
Alex Molek all drove in runs.
Brian Marquis took the loss for the Bluejays, allowing nine hits and eight runs in 5.2 innings of work. He walked one and struck out five.
The Bluejays take on Fontbonne in a doubleheader on Monday (March 25).
