NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The second-ranked Elmhurst wrestling team completed its final CCIW dual meet of the season with a 41-3 victory over North Central College.
The Bluejays won eight of the nine contests wrestled en route to the 38-point win.
Miguel Venecia kicked off the dual with a 14-1 major decision over Nick Santos at 125.
Dalton Bullard received a forfeit at 133 pounds to stake Elmhurst to a 10-0 lead.
Ryan Earley gave the Bluejays a 14-0 lead when he blanked Jon Williamson 10-0 to score a major decision at 141 pounds.
North Central scored its only points of the dual at 149 pounds when Nathan Segal tipped
Maxx Lozano 6-4.
Elmhurst closed the dual with six straight wins, starting with Nick DiNardo's 10-4 victory over Blake Olson at 157 pounds.
Yousef Al-Ghoul followed at 165 pounds and pinned North Central's Jake Powers in 6:57.
Danny Balderas gave Elmhurst a 27-3 lead by scoring a 13-4 major decision over Kyle Geary at 174 pounds.
Joe Rau made short work of North Central's Vince Marrone at 184 pounds, pinning the Cardinals' grappler in 2:56.
Mike Benefiel defeated Casey Greenberg 12-2 at 197 pounds to give Elmhurst a 37-3 lead.
Jack Lewis closed out the dual with a 12-0 major decision over the Cardinals' Dylan Mahler at 285 pounds.
Elmhurst improved to 11-1 in dual meet competition, including a 4-0 mark in the CCIW. The Bluejays host Loras College next Wednesday (February 13).
