Box Score APPLETON, Wis. - The Elmhurst men's basketball team evened its record at 2-2 with a 96-81 road win at Lawrence University.
The first half featured eight lead changes and seven ties before Elmhurst closed the half with a 13-3 run to take a 45-35 lead at the half.
Lawrence pulled to within two points with 12:47 left in the second half, but Elmhurst answered back with a 12-1 run to take a 72-59 lead with 9:19 left. Lawrence came no closer than 10 points as Elmhurst pulled away for the 15-point win.
Elmhurst shot 49.3 percent (34-of-69) from the floor, including 52.4 percent (11-of-21) from beyond the arc.
Bryant Ackerman came off the bench to lead the Bluejays with 29 points. Ackerman shot 10-of-15 from the floor, and knocked down 7-of-10 shots from downtown.
Kyle Wuest poured in a career-high 25 points for the Bluejays in the win. Wuest shot 8-of-14 from the floor, including 3-of-6 from downtown.
Will Nixon added a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds while
Nick Sanford totaled nine points and 11 boards.
Erik Crittenden added 11 points for the Bluejays, hitting 5-of-6 shots.
Lawrence shot 41.0 percent from the floor (25-of-61), including 45.5 percent (15-of-33) from downtown. Chris Siebert led Lawrence in the loss with 26 points.
Elmhurst travels to Webster University on November 26.
