Box Score FULTON, Mo. - The Elmhurst men's basketball team slipped to 0-2 on the season after falling 71-66 to Greenville College in the CCIW/SLIAC Challenge at Westminster College.
Elmhurst never led in the contest, as Greenville (1-1) started hot and raced out to an early 18-7 lead. The Bluejays closed to within five points with seven minutes left to play, but Greenville closed the half on a 13-3 run to take a 34-19 lead at the break.
Elmhurst started strong in the second half, chipping the lead down to three points with 11:26 remaining. Greenville pushed their lead back up to 11 points with 2:27 left to play. The Bluejays mounted a quick rally, pulling to within three points with 33 seconds to play, but Greenville hit 7-of-8 free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.
Elmhurst shot 33.8 percent from the floor (24-of-71). The Bluejays shot just 23.3 percent (7-of-30) in the opening half, but shot 41.5 percent (17-of-41) in the second half. Elmhurst remained cold from downtown, hitting just 3-of-19 attempts from beyond the arc (15.8 percent).
Bryant Ackerman paced the Bluejays in the loss, dumping in 15 points and grabbing six rebounds.

Will Nixon scored 13 points apiece for the Bluejays. Nixon totaled a double-double with 12 rebounds in the loss.
Nick Sanford added 10 rebounds and seven points for the Bluejays before fouling out.
Taylor Baxter came off the bench to score nine points for Elmhurst.
Greenville shot 40.0 percent (20-of-50) from the floor, including 37.5 percent (3-of-8) from three-point range. Michael Hohm and Ron Harris scored 14 points apiece for the Panthers. Alex Mumphard added 13 points while Tim Daniel scored 10.
Elmhurst travels to Benedictine University on Wednesday, November 20.
