Box Score <strong>CHICAGO, Ill. -</strong> The Elmhurst baseball team scored four runs over the final three innings and held off a ninth-inning rally from Augustana to defeat the Vikings 7-6 and advance in the CCIW Tournament.<br />

Augustana (25-17) jumped on the scoreboard with pair of runs in the first, but Elmhurst (23-19) answered back with two runs in the third to even the score.
Zach Hofer drove in a run on fielder's choice to put the Bluejays on the scoreboard. After an Augustana error extended the inning for the Bluejays,
Tim Nolan singled home a run to even the score.<br />

The Vikings' Mike Barker cracked a solo homer in the bottom of the third to put Augustana back on top. Elmhurst pulled even in the fifth.
Joe Kennedy singled with one out and moved to third on a double from Hofer. Kennedy scored on
Dave Wolak's ground out to tie the score at 3-3.<br />

Barker put Augustana back on top in the bottom of the fifth by launching his second solo shot of the game.<br />

Brian Evans tied the score for the Bluejays in the seventh by cracking a solo homer to right field. The Bluejays took advantage of an Augustana error in the eighth to score three runs and take their first lead of the game.
Tyler Wargo started the scoring with a fielder's choice, but an error on Augustana allowed a run to score and move runners to second and third for the Bluejays.
Eric Stevenson squeezed home a run and Evans added an RBI single to give the Bluejays a 7-4 cushion.<br />

Augustana fought back in the bottom of the ninth. The Vikings scored a run on a sacrifice fly, and Grant Stewart's run-scoring single made it a one run game. The Vikings loaded the bases with two outs, but Hofer induced Brandon Jasper to ground out to first and end the game.<br />

Evans and Nolan finished with two hits apiece to lead the Elmhurst offense. Evans drove in two and scored a run while Nolan added an RBI and a run scored.<br />

Joe Luft picked up the victory for Elmhurst, working eight innings and scattering four hits, three earned runs and six walks. He fanned seven while improving to 5-1. Despite allowing two runs and four hits, Hofer was able to nail down his first save of the season by recording the final three outs.<br />

Elmhurst will face the loser of Illinois Wesleyan vs. North Park later in the afternoon in an elimination game. The game is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m., but will likely start later depending on the completion of the Illinois Wesleyan/North Park contest.
