Box Score LISLE, Ill. - The Elmhurst College baseball team fell to 18-14 on the season after falling 8-6 at Benedictine University in the completion of a game that was halted two weeks ago due to a power outage.
Elmhurst was trailing 7-3 after three innings when a power outage knocked out the lights at the Lisle Sports Complex on April 12.
Benedictine roughed up Elmhurst starter
Eric Stevenson in the second inning, scoring seven runs after sending 13 batters to the plate.
Elmhurst plated three runs in the top of the third to pull to within four runs. After

Marc Shield put the Bluejays on the scoreboard with a two-run homer to right.
Zach Hofer scored on a wild pitch to account for the Bluejays' third run of the inning.
When the game resumed, the Bluejays scored three runs in the fifth to pull to within one of the Eagles. After a lead off walk to

Marc Shield belted a two-run homer to make the score 7-5.
Tyler Wargo doubled home a run later in the inning to cut the Eagles' lead down to one.
Benedictine tacked on an insurance run in the sixth to earn the 8-6 win.
Shield led the charge for Elmhurst, finishing 2-for-4 with RBI after hitting a pair of two-run homers.
Dave Wolak collected two hits for Elmhurst in the loss.
Stevenson took the loss for the Bluejays.
Alex Van Cleve worked five innings in relief, holding the Eagles to just one run.
Elmhurst travels to North Park University on Friday, April 27.
