Box Score ROCKFORD, Ill. - Rockford College collected 18 hits and scored 20 runs while upending the Elmhurst College baseball team 20-10 at Road Ranger Stadium.
Elmhurst fell to 15-12 overall while Rockford evened its record at 14-14.
The Bluejays jumped on the scoreboard first, scoring three runs in the first inning on RBI doubles from
Zach Hofer and
Luke Collins and a run-scoring single from
Tyler Wargo.
Elmhurst's lead was short lived as the Regents blasted back-to-back homers in the first to take a 4-3 lead. Rockford's Daryn Streed cracked a three-run homer while Jake Nicholson followed with a solo shot.
Hofer's second straight double drove in a run in the second to tie the score at four, but the Regents once again answered back, scoring four runs in the bottom of the second to open up an 8-4 lead.
Elmhurst took advantage of a Rockford error in the third to score four runs and even the score.

Brian Evans, and Hofer all drove in runs in the Bluejays' fourth.
Rockford continued its offensive assault in the bottom of the third, scoring four times for the third straight inning.
Rockford scored a run in the fifth, three in the sixth and scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh to earn a walk-off, 10-run victory.
Elmhurst finished with 15 hits in the contest. Hofer led the offense with a 3-for-3 day while driving in three runs. Collins added three hits and drove in two while
Joe Kennedy also tallied three base hits.
Eric Stevenson took the loss in relief for the Bluejays. Stevenson was tagged for 10 hits and 10 earned runs in 3.1 innings of work while slipping to 0-1 on the season.
Elmhurst resumes CCIW play on Saturday (April 21) by traveling to Carthage College.
