Baseball Team Wins Fourth Straight

Box Score AUBURNDALE, Fla. - The Elmhurst College baseball team won its fourth straight contest by upending Western New England University 7-4 at the RussMatt Tournament.

Dave Wolak sparked the Elmhurst offense with a pair of hits, including a double, while driving in a team-leading two runs. Zach Hofer, Mark Shield and Jake Bronkema finished with a hit and an RBI apiece in the Bluejays' win. Shield also scored a pair of runs for the Bluejays. Brian Evans reached base three times from the leadoff spot with a hit and a pair of walks while also scoring a pair of runs.

Dave Parr recorded the victory from the mound for Elmhurst. Parr worked 5.2 innings allowing just six hits and two earned runs. He struck out six while not issuing a walk. Joe Ramirez finished up in relief, earning a save in the process. Ramirez worked the final 3.1 innings and surrendered only a two run homer. He walked one and struck out two.

Elmhurst faces Hope College in a doubleheader on Tuesday (March 20).
