ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst College baseball team moved to 12-15 overall and 2-11 in the CCIW after splitting a doubleheader with Millikin University. The Bluejays took game one 6-2 but dropped the night cap 8-2.

ELMHURST 6, MILLIKIN 2 - The Bluejays scored twice in the first, second, and fifth innings en route to a 6-2 victory.

Zach Hofer started the scoring for Elmhurst by blasting his second home run of the season, a two run shot, in the first inning.

Millikin quickly tied the score at two with a pair of runs in the second inning, but Tyler Facker and Brian Evans each drove in runs in the bottom of the second to give Elmhurst a 4-2 lead. Dave Wolak drove in a pair of runs with a single in the fifth to give the Bluejays the 6-2 victory.

Joe Luft improved to 2-3 on the season by pitching a complete game victory for Elmhurst. Luft scattered nine hits, two runs, and one walk over nine innings of work. Luft fanned five Big Blue batters.

MILLIKIN 8, ELMHURST 2 - Millikin used a four-run third inning to score their first CCIW victory of the season.

The Big Blue jumped in front 1-0 in the first inning, but Elmhurst quickly tied the score on a Dan Matkovic RBI double.

Millikin used five hits in the third inning to grab a 5-1. An RBI single from Peter Bonner in the fifth inning gave the Big Blue a 6-1 lead. Elmhurst got a run back in the fifth on Matkovic's RBI single, but the Big Blue put the game away with a pair of runs in the top of the ninth.

Brian Marquis took the loss for Elmhurst, working three innings and allowing eight hits and five runs while striking out one.

Josh Schultz pitched a complete game for the Big Blue, limiting Elmhurst to only six hits and one earned run over nine innings. He walked three and struck out five.

Elmhurst travels to North Central College on April 25.
