Baseball Team Blanked By Aurora

AURORA, Ill. -
The Elmhurst College baseball team slipped to 11-14 on the season after being blanked by Aurora University 10-0.

Five different Spartan pitchers combined to silence the Elmhurst bats, liming the Bluejays to only two hits over seven innings.

Aurora (17-8) scored twice in the first, four in the fourth, two in the fifth, and two in the seventh en route to the 10-run victory.

Brian Evans and Matt Bernier each recorded a hit to account for the Bluejays' two total hits.

Drew Gay, Stephen Sitterly, Nick Czaja, Jorge Hernandez, and Thomas Ozlanski combined to allow just two hits. Gay issued the only walk for the Spartans and struck out two in two innings of work to earn the win.

Danny Stevens took the loss for the Bluejays. Stevens (0-1) worked 3.2 innings and allowed just two hits, but walked eight batters leading two six earned runs. He struck out one in the loss.

Elmhurst opens a three-game series with Millikin University by hosting the Big Blue in a doubleheader on Friday, April 22.
