NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Elmhurst College women's tennis team slipped to 2-3 overall and 0-2 in CCIW play following an 8-1 loss at North Central College. 
North Central (5-1, 2-1 CCIW) won five of the six singles matches and swept all three doubles contests en route to the 8-1 victory.
Elmhurst's 
Virginia Dallman scored a 6-4, 6-4 win over Cory Schillerstrom at No. 1 singles to account for Elmhurst's only win. North Central's Alicia DeGrado downed 
Stephanie Ruff 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 singles while Abigail Conover toppled Elmhurst's 
Rebecca Davis 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles. The Cardinals' Jessica Ignarski defeated 
Alex Stark 6-3, 6-2 at No. 4 singles. Elmhurst's 
Alexis Ross retired to Margaret Youel at No. 5 singles. North Central's Stephanie Brunetti wrapped up singles play with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Elmhurst's 
Emily Tarlini at No. 6 singles.
In doubles play, Schillerstrom and Conover knocked off Dallman and Ruff 8-2 at No. 1 doubles while Alicia DeGrado and Youel defeated Davis and Stark 8-4 at No. 2 doubles. North Central's team of Ignarski and Brunetti scored an 8-1 victory over Ross and Tarlini at No. 3 doubles.
The Bluejays host the College of DuPage on September 16.
