ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Elmhurst College baseball team suffered its seventh straight loss and dropped to 3-13 overall after falling to Rockford College 18-1.

Rockford tagged five Elmhurst pitchers for 17 runs and 18 hits while improving to 8-5-1 on the season.

Four big innings is all Rockford's offense needed. The Regents scored three runs in the third, seven in the third, and four runs apiece in the sixth and seventh innings. 

Nick Herrera launched a solo home run in the sixth inning to account for Elmhurst's only run of the game.

Alex Lopez took the loss for Elmhurst, working 2.2 innings and allowing seven runs (five earned) on four hits. He walked four and struck out one.

Rockford's Travis Mohr silenced Elmhurst's bats while improving to 2-0 on the season. Mohr worked six innings and allowed just four hits and one earned run.

Elmhurst resumes CCIW play by traveling to North Central College on Saturday, April 10.
