GARY, Ind. - The Elmhurst College baseball team slipped to 6-20 overall following a 14-3 loss to Wabash College at the U.S. Steel Yard in Gary, Ind.

Wabash (17-20) banged out 13 hits while scoring runs in eight seven straight innings. The Little Giants scored 10 runs in the opening five frames to jump in front before the Bluejays got on the scoreboard.

Elmhurst scored all three of its runs in the sixth inning with Zach Hofer, Nick Herrera, and Dan Matkovic all driving home runs. 

Herrera recorded two of the Bluejays' five hits in the loss.

Kyle Gruber took the loss for the Bluejays, dropping to 0-2 on the season. Gruber surrendered four hits and five runs (four earned) in three innings of work. He walked two and struck out two. 

Elmhurst travels to Millikin University for a three-game series on April 24-25.
