FULTON, Mo. - The Elmhurst College men's basketball team recorded its first win of the 2010-11 season by defeating Westminster College (Mo.) 67-61.
Elmhurst (1-4) erased a 30-25 halftime deficit by outscoring Westminster 42-31 in the game's final 20 minutes. The Bluejays shot a whopping 63.6 percent from the floor in the second half, hitting 14-of-22 attempts. The Bluejays were deadly from downtown, hitting 9-of-13 three-point attempts (63.2 percent) in the second half.
The Bluejays grabbed the lead at 43-42 in the second half and did not trail the rest of the way. Elmhurst finished the contest hitting 51.1 percent (24-of-47) of its shots. The Bluejays shot 63.2 percent (12-of-19) from beyond the arc.
Zack Boyd led Elmhurst by pouring in a game-high 24 points while shooting 9-of-15 from the floor. Boyd hit 4-of-5 attempts from beyond the arc.
Mike McCurdy added 11 points and netted three three-pointers in the victory.

Aaron Schroeder added eight points apiece while
D'Ante Foster came off the bench to score six points.
Westminster finished the game shooting 43.5 percent (20-of-46) from the field, including 38.1 percent (8-of-21) from three-point range.
Justin Gilmore scored 17 to lead Westminster (4-3) in the loss. Jake Vislay added 13 points and Skylar Tolson scored 11 for the Blue Jays.
Elmhurst hosts Kalamazoo College on Thurs
