Box Score

CHICAGO, Ill. -
The Elmhurst College football team remained perfect on the season by hammering North Park University 45-0 at the Holmgren Athletic Complex.

After a scoreless first quarter, Elmhurst (4-0, 1-0 CCIW) scored 45 straight points en route to the 45-0 blowout.

Elmhurst's first score was set up by the Bluejays' defense. Jerry Beach stripped North Park's Tyler Krebs at the 5-yard line and recovered the loose ball at the Vikings' 6-yard line. On the very next play, Scottie Williams broke into the end zone for a 6-yard Elmhurst score. The Bluejays' extra-point attempt failed and Elmhurst led 6-0 early in the second quarter.

After a North Park Park (2-2, 0-1) punt, the Bluejays strung together an eight-play, 58-yard scoring drive with Joe Furco hitting Brian LeSeur on a 23-yard touchdown pass to cap the drive.

The Bluejays' defense forced North Park to punt, and Elmhurst moved 55 yards in less than a minute to take a 21-0 lead at the half. Furco found Ryan Bock for a three-yard score to seal the scoring drive. Furco hit Bock again on the two-point conversion to give Elmhurst a 21-0 lead.

On its first possession of the second half, the Bluejays drove to North Park's 22-yard line before settling for a 39-yard field goal from J.R. Dalicandro to take a 24-0 lead.

North Park had its best opportunity to get on the board on its next possession. The Vikings drove 79 yards to the Elmhurst one-yard line. Facing a fourth-and-goal from the Bluejays' one-yard line, Krebs was stripped of the football by Randy Wright. Wright scooped up the loose ball and flipped it to Dane Paul who raced 99 yards for a defensive touchdown.

After Elmhurst took over on downs at their own 49-yard line, the Bluejays' needed just two plays to take a 38-0 lead. Williams broke free for a 46-yard touchdown run.

The Bluejays added an Andrew Tubek eight-yard touchdown run in the game's final minutes to earn the victory.

Elmhurst totaled 323 yards of total offense, with 261 coming on the ground. The Bluejays' defense limited North Park to only 244 yards and also forced three fumbles in the victory.

Williams continued his early season dominance, rushing 23 times for 186 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Furco completed 10-of-16 passes for 80 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

North Park's offense was led by Andy Kick's 38 rushing yards on 16 carries.

Wright led Elmhurst's defense with 10 tackles, including a sack. Kyle DeMus added nine stops while Beach totaled eight. Paul's 99-yard fumble return now stands as the longest fumble return in school history.
