KENOSHA, Wis.  - The Elmhurst College women's tennis team slipped to 1-2 on the season after dropping a pair of CCIW contests.

The Bluejays suffered an 8-1 defeat to Augustana College and then were shut out 9-0 by Carthage College.

AUGUSTANA 8, ELMHURST 1 - Elmhurst suffered its first loss of the season after falling to Augustana College. The Vikings swept all six singles matches and scored wins in two of the three doubles contests.

Elmhurst scored its only point of the dual at No. 1 doubles when the tandum of Virginia Dallman and Shannon Daletoppled Augustana's Jenna Richardson and Tricia Crawford 8-4.

CARTHAGE 9, ELMHURST 0 - Carthage upped its record to 3-1 on the season after blanking Elmhurst 9-0 in CCIW play. The Lady Reds swept all six singles matches and all three doubles contests en route to the win. Blaire Hufford, playing at No. 5 singles, was the only Bluejay player to win a set in singles play. After dropping the first set 6-2, Hufford pushed Carthage's Stephanie Zundl to a third set with a 6-2 win in the second set. Zundl held off Hufford to earn a 10-8 victory in the third and decisive set.
