EVANSTON, Ill. - The Elmhurst College baseball team fell to 9-11 on the season after a 16-0 shutout loss at Northwestern University.

Northwestern (6-20) pounded out 21 hits against Elmhurst pitchers en route to the victory.

Elmhurst was held to only three hits over nine innings. Brett Lilley, Zach Hofer, and Nick Herrera each recorded a hit in the loss.

Chris Lashmet powered the Wildcats with a 5-for-5 day at the plate. He scored three runs and drove in three. Quentin Williams homered and drove in three while Jake Wilson also recorded three RBI for Northwestern.

Andy Bejlovec (0-2) took the loss for the Bluejays, allowing 10 hits and 10 runs in 3.2 innings of work. He walked four and struck out two.

Francis Brooke tossed five shutout innings to earn the win for Northwestern. He walked two and allowed two hits while striking out four.

Elmhurst resumes CCIW play on Wednesday, April 8, by hosting Augustana College at 3:00 p.m.
