AURORA, Ill. - The Elmhurst College baseball team fell to 11-15 overall following a 6-3 loss to Aurora University.

Aurora (18-6) jumped out to a 5-1 lead after scoring in each of the first four innings.

Elmhurst battled back in the fifth, scoring a pair of runs to bring Aurora's lead down to two. A Ryan Schrader RBI single started the Bluejays scoring. Nick Herrera hit a sacrifice fly to drive the second run in the fifth.

Aurora tacked on an insurance run in the eighth to earn the 6-3 victory.

Schrader recorded three of Elmhurst's 10 hits in the hits loss. Zach Hofer and Joey Natale also banged out two hits apiece.

Andy Bejlovec (0-3) took the loss for Elmhurst. He allowed five runs (three earned) on nine hits in 3.2 innings of work. He walked three and struck out two. Steve Hagstrom pitched well in relief, allowing just one run and four hits while tossing 4.1 innings.

Elmhurst resumes CCIW play on Friday, April 17, by facing Wheaton College at Alexian Field in Schaumburg. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
