Melanie Schwerdtmann is entering her third season as an assistant coach with the Elmhurst women's basketball team.
A four-year letterwinner for the Bluejays from 2011-2015, Schwerdtmann closed her Elmhurst career with 558 points and 270 rebounds. During the 2013-14 season, she finished second on the team in scoring, averaging 13.1 points per game, including scoring a career-best 27 in a win over Fontbonne University.
Since graduating with her bachelor's degree from Elmhurst in 2015, Schwerdtmann has served as an assistant girls basketball coach at both Hampshire High School and Jacobs High School. She helped Hampshire win a conference championship during the 2018-19 season with a 19-3 record. She's also served as a basketball coach at All In Athletics for the past two seasons.
