Leigh Podlesny

    Assistant Softball Coach
Leigh Podlesny is entering her fifth season as an assistant coach with the Elmhurst softball team. Podlesney will serve as the team's pitching coach.

Podlesny played collegiate softball at the University of Illinois-Chicago where she re-wrote the pitching record book. She set school records for wins (83), saves (four), complete games (102), shutouts (6), appearances (134), innings pitched (805) and strikeouts (654). She was inducted into the UIC Hall of Fame in 1997. 

Podlesny began her coaching career working with Stone City Softball, coaching 14U, 16U and 18U club squads. Over 130 players from the program went on to play collegiate softball.

Podlesny coached collegiately at DePaul from 1996-2002, serving as the team's pitching coach. She coached six All-Americans in her time at DePaul and the Blue Demons pitchers' led the nation in ERA during the 1998 season. 

She served as the head coach at Middle Tennessee State from 2004-07 and spent time as a head coach with Terrasvogel Softball, a top level team in the Netherlands that won a pair of Euro Cup Championships. 

Podlesny also directed clinics with North Side Pitching Clinics and currently works as a trainer at Positive Coach Alliance.Â
