Bluejays Wrap Up Post Season on the Road at Carthage

KENOSHA, Ill - Elmhurst goes toe to toe till the final round with Kristin Bukata picking up another double-double in the CCIW Women's Basketball Championship Quarterfinal falling to Carthage 80-77.

The Bluejays open the game going back and forth for the first period, with a five point deficit at the end of period one. Leading into the second period the Bluejays responded with 7-0 run highlighted by Ella Conyers hitting a three. Closing into the half with 00:03 on the clock Anna Kleszynski grabbed the rebound to drive her way up the court well beyond the arc for a three pointer to tie the game. With a refresh, the Bluejays stayed controlled taking the lead by two in the third. Using the momentum gained, with a pair of buckets to open the second half. Trading off the lead throughout the period to close the gap to a point difference. With 00:03 on the clock Elmhurst rallies for the final moments, falling short by three. The Bluejays close their season with a final score of 80-77.

Kristin Bukata, posting a double-double with a game high of 31 points and ten rebounds, as well as six assists. Anna Kleszynski, second in stats with 15 points, three assists, and nine rebounds. Freshman Natalie Robinson closed the game with ten points, seven rebounds, two steals and a block. Senior Sierra Gibson closed out her year with ten assists, six rebounds, and one steal. Natalie Harty rounded out the starting line up with three assists and two rebounds. 

Ella Conyers came off the bench for eight points in the contest, including two from three-point range, while adding two rebounds and an assist in 21 minutes of action. 

The Bluejays wrap up their season, looking to show progress in the fall.
