WHEATON, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's soccer team earned a 1-0 victory over Wheaton College on Saturday, Oct. 17, at Joe Bean Stadium.
Kelli Coughlin generated two early shots before Alaina Clark broke through with an unassisted goal at 44:11, sending the Bluejays into halftime ahead 1-0.
Elmhurst (11-4, 3-2 CCIW) defenders protected the lead through the second half while continuing to create opportunities. Katelyn Guolla, Lauren Nevins and Izzy Vargas each put a shot on goal after the break, while the Bluejay defense held firm against nine second-half attempts to secure the shutout.
Coughlin led Elmhurst with three shots, while Erin Fitzharris recorded four saves over 90 minutes. The Bluejays finished with eight shots, including five on goal, and held a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks over Wheaton (4-9-3, 3-2-2).
Up Next: The Bluejays will travel to North Park on Wednesday, Oct. 21 with kick off scheduled for 7 p.m.
