The Elmhurst University women's wrestling team faced a strong test on Wednesday night, squaring off against No. 3 North Central College in a dual that showcased the program's continued growth.
At 117 pounds, Valentina Fantoni put together a competitive effort before falling by technical fall but secured a point for the team despite the matches outcome. Juliana Lefort earned Elmhurst's another team point at 180 pounds in a hard-fought battle. Elmhurst also saw action from Claire Crouch (103), Kendall Smith (124), Bella Curcuru (131), Viola Pianetto (138), Grace Johnson (145), Lily Avalos (160), and others as the Bluejays battled through a full slate of matches against the the Cardinals.
Elmhurst continues to build its foundation in the program's inaugural season. The Bluejays will look to carry that momentum forward as they prepare to host their first-ever Elmhurst Women's Invite on Sunday, January 18.
