ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's basketball team hosted conference foe Millikin University on Tuesday night (Feb. 11th), where they clinched a winning season for the first time in nine seasons.
The Bluejays (13-8, 5-8 CCIW), were led by
Sierra Gibson as she scored 23 points while going 10 of 14 from the field along with adding five rebounds, two assists, blocks and one steal.
Rowan Cusack would get in on the action as she scored 15 points along with adding seven assists, four rebounds and two steals.
The Big Blue (8-14, 7-6 CCIW), were led by a combination of Emily Brenneisen who scored 12 points while adding eight rebounds, one assist and steal. While Emily White would add 12 point of her own along with two rebounds and a block.
Both teams would start a bit slow as they would trade baskets with the end of the first quarter coming to a close at 14-14. In the second quarter the Bluejays would come alive as they would erupt for 27 points while the Big Blue would only muster 13 giving the Bluejays a 41-24 lead into halftime. From there on out it was all Bluejays as they would push there lead up to 20 where they would defeat the Big Blue 80-60.
The Bluejays would lead the Millikin in points off of turnovers with 25 while the Big Blue would score only 15. The Bluejays would also outscore the Big Blue in points in the paint as they scored 52 points in the paint while the Big Blue were only able to muster 36.

The Bluejays will travel to their final road game of the regular season as they visit North Park University on Saturday, Feb. 15th with ganme time starting at 2:00pm
