WHEATON, Ill. – Elmhurst University women's basketball brought its conference record to 2-0 in dominant fashion on Saturday afternoon, powering past Wheaton 80–53. The Bluejays controlled all four quarters and put together one of their strongest perimeter-shooting performances of the season, hitting 11 three-pointers at an outstanding rate 61 percent.

Elmhurst wasted no time setting the tone from the beginning of the game. Natalie Harty sparked the early surge with three triples in the opening quarter, fueling a 23-13 lead after the first ten minutes. Harty finished the afternoon with 22 points on an outstanding 8-of-12 shooting effort that included 6-of-9 from long distance. Her efficiency helped Elmhurst build repeated double-digit cushions as the Bluejays' offense was highly effective.

Adding to the balanced attack was a great performance from Kristin Bukata, who delivered a game-high 29 points along with eight assists while shooting 11-of-19 from the floor. Maia Lewers added 10 points and four assists, and Ella Conyers provided a spark off the bench with nine points on a perfect 3-for-4 shooting from deep.

Elmhurst's defensive pressure also played a major role, forcing 19 turnovers that converted into 22 points on the other end. The Bluejays dominated the glass 36–28 and held the Thunder to just four made threes on 20 attempts. Elmhurst sealed the game with a commanding fourth quarter, pulling away to its largest lead in the closing minutes.

The victory moves Elmhurst to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the CCIW, the best start in conference play since 2011.  The Bluejays look forward to another conference battle at home against Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday, December 13.
