ELMHURST, IL - The Elmhurst University women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision on the road to North Central College on Saturday morning at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium. Despite a strong defensive effort and multiple adjustments throughout the match, the Bluejays couldn't find the equalizer in the tightly contested CCIW matchup.

North Central (8-5-0, 3-0-0 CCIW) scored the lone goal of the match in the 22nd minute, taking advantage of a quick buildup to break the deadlock. From there, Elmhurst (9-4-2, 1-3-1 CCIW) tightened its defensive shape and limited North Central to just three shots on goal in the final 68 minutes.

Goalkeeper Erin Fitzharris recorded two second-half saves to keep Elmhurst within striking distance, while the back line anchored by Grace Bray, Katelyn Guolla, and Angie Lopez absorbed heavy pressure as North Central earned 11 corner kicks.

Offensively, the Bluejays managed one second-half shot and a late corner attempt in the 88th minute but couldn't convert. Nora Simon provided Elmhurst's lone shot of the day, while Maddie Cummings and Lauren Nevins led the forward line in the attack.

The match saw only one card per side, with Lopez receiving a yellow in the 81st minute for Elmhurst.

The Bluejays will look to bounce back as they continue CCIW play next week, traveling to Bloomington, IL against Illinois Wesleyan on Wednesday.
