DECATUR, Ill. -Â The Elmhurst University softball team wrapped up the regular season Saturday afternoon, being swept in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin doubleheader against Millikin University.
Elmhurst (15-20, 6-10 CCIW) kept the opening contest against the Big Blue (27-9, 14-2 CCIW), limiting the Millikin offense to just three runs, but the Bluejays offense was unable to respond and ultimatley fell by a score of 3-1. The Bluejays colected just three hits in the opening game, with
Chiara O'Leary knocking in the lone run for the Bluejays. O'Leary also pitched all six innings for Elmhurst, giving up three runs and adding eight strikeouts, but falling to 6-8 on the season with the loss.
In game two, the bats for the Bluejays were stifled, knocking just two hits in the contest and the Big Blue scoring three runs in the seventh to take game two, 8-0.
Hannah Dunk collected both of the Bluejay hits in the game with a 2-for-3 effort.
Brianna Pisauro took the loss in the circle to drop to 7-9 after giving up 11 hits and all eight runs, adding one strikeout to her line.

Elmhurst is set to begin the 2023 CCIW Softball Tournament this Thursday, May 11, as the sixth-seeded Bluejays take on the third-seeded Vikings of North Park at approximately 2:00 p.m. CT on the campus of Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Ill.
