Elmhurst Ill. - The Elmhurst University Women's Basketball Team suffered a 56-80 loss to their conference foe Carthage. 

Bluejays (4-5, 1-3 CCIW), were lead by a pair of players, Shanyce Makuei and Kristin Bukata. Makuei had 21 points, seven rebounds and five steals, while Bukata contributed 12 points, six rebounds, with two steals and two assists. 

Firebirds (6-4, 2-2 CCIW), were lead by the combination of Lauren Knight and Marianna Morrisse. Knight recorded a double-double scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. She also had three assists and two steals. Morrisse added 18 points with nine rebounds, six steals, five blocks and four assists. 

The Bluejays struggled scoring in the first half only scoring 17 points while the Firebirds put up 55. In the second half the Bluejays would out score the Firebirds 39-35 but would still come up short 80-55.

The Bluejays will return to action as they will travel to Rose-Hulman in Terre Haute, Indiana on Saturday, December 16th at 2 pm.
