KENOSHA, Wis. - The Elmhurst University wrestling team fell, 15-29, to Carthage College Thursday evening inside Tarble Arena.

Elmhurst (1-1, 1-1 CCIW) took an early 5-4 lead through two weight classes after Jake Mora continued his strong season with a 16-1 technical fall victory at 133, but the Bluejays followed with three-straight match losses to fall behind, 5-16. 

Jeff Nugent helped the Bluejays stay within reach with a pin just 49 seconds into his match at 165, moving the score to 11-16 with four matches to go. The dual would be put out of reach after another three match losses, but David Ortiz ended the night on a positive note for the Bluejays with a 11-3 major decision victory, moving the final score to 15-29 in favor of the home team.
