Watertown Wis. - The Elmhurst University Women's Soccer Team dominated at Maranatha Baptist University winning 6-1.
The Bluejays (5-7-3, 0-5-1 CCIW) were led in goals by
Sam Shafiabady, who scored her first career hat-trick, as well as Ginna Imperatrice,
Camila Rubio, and
Kelli Coughlin who all scored one goal on the day as well.
Kendal Freischlag,
Chara Ganta and Rubio also tallied assists for the Bluejays. The Team had nine corner kicks on the night and 32 shots, Rubio led the way with six shots followed by Imperatrice with four shots, and
Courtney Conlon,
Martyna Bogaczewicz and Shafiabady alll had three shots on the say as well.
The Sabercats (3-8) lone goal was scored by Mallory Willette, she also led the teams in shots with two of the teams three shots with the other coming from Esther Bishop. The Sabercats also had four corner kicks on the night and eight saves from Chloe Dodd and two saves from Megan MacDonald.
The Bluejays started the game fast with a goal just after the first minute by Shafiabady, she would then add her second goal in the 25th minute and not even a minute later Imperatrice scored as well. Willette would cut the lead down to two to end the first half. But the Bluejays would continue their offensive push with Rubio adding a goal in the 52nd minute and Coughlin adding a goal in the 61st minute, and just a couple minutes later Shafiabady would add her last goal to earn the hat-trick and the Bluejays would earn a 6-1 victory.
