ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's soccer team dropped its home-opening contest of the 2022 season, falling to the Illinois Institute of Technology 7-0 at Langhorst Field.

Elmhurst (0-3) limited IIT (2-1) to just one goal in the opening half, but the Scarlet Hawks exploded for six goals in the final 45 minutes, scoring three times in the first 10 minutes of the second half to pull away for the victory. 

Kenzie Tokuchi led IIT with a pair of goals while Amelia Moseman added two assists. 

MaKenzee Velchek recorded 13 saves in goal for the Bluejays in 51 minutes. Aleksia Vranjes added six saves in the final 39 minutes. 

Elmhurst plays at MSOE on Friday, September 9.
