RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The Elmhurst University women's soccer team dropped its 2022 season-opening contest at Dominican University, falling 6-0 to the host Stars.
 
Dominican (1-0) struck for four goals in the opening half to race out to an early lead. Regan Coxon staked the Stars to a 1-0 advantage with a goal just 3:43 into the match. Grace Larson netted three straight goals, scoring in the 24th, 38th and 39th minutes to give the Stars a 4-0 lead at the break.
 
Mia Tauilahu added two goals for the Stars in the second half to make the final score 6-0.

Elmhurst was outshot 30-1 by Dominican in the contest.
 
MaKenzee  Velchek recorded six saves in 56 minutes of action in goal for the Bluejays. Aleksia Vranjes stopped four shots in 34 minutes for Elmhurst. Ashley Ishman earned the shutout in goal for the Stars.
