MONTGOMERY, Ill. – The Elmhurst softball team slipped to 3-3 on the season after dropping both ends of a doubleheader to Aurora University. The Bluejays fell 8-0 in game one and dropped game two 3-0.

AURORA 8, ELMHURST 0 (Game One) -Â Aurora scored two runs in each of the first three innings and added to runs in the sixth to earn the 8-0 victory after six innings.

Elmhurst was limited to just three hits in the contest.

Alana Batista and
Jamie Haas finished with one hit apiece for the Bluejays.

Brianna Pisauro made the start and took the loss for Elmhurst from the circle. She allowed seven hits and six runs (five earned) in three innings of work. She walked two and fanned two. Aurora's Hannah Tomasko earned the victory, pitching six innings and allowing just three hits and three walks while fanning seven.

AURORA 3, ELMHURST 0 (Game Two) – Aurora broke a scoreless tie with three runs in the in the fourth inning to finish the doubleheader sweep of the Bluejays.

Christina Richards drove in two runs for the Spartans in the fourth.

Kate Sommer all finished with a hit for the Bluejays.

Jena Hicks made the start and took the loss for Elmhurst, surrendering three runs (two earned) and six hits over four innings of work.
Sydni Gizynski pitched two scoreless innings of relief, striking out three. Rylee Campbell earned the win for the Spartans, pitching a complete game shutout. She allowed just four hits and one walk while fanning one.
