ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst University men's tennis team upped its record to 3-2 on the season by shutting out the College of DuPage 9-0 at the Brune Tennis Courts.
Elmhurst swept all three doubles matches to open play.
Tomas Bella and
Justin Penados made short work of Jake Anderson and Mark Wisdell 8-0 at No. 1.
Ben Cavka and
Florin Stan added an 8-1 victory over Mitch Ludewigh and Clayton Barma at No. 2. The Bluejays' pari of
Brandon Fulmer and
Russell Reyes added an 8-0 shutout win over Daniel Anderson and Anthony Kaminski at No. 3 doubles.
The Bluejays cruised to the 9-0 victory after sweeping all six singles matches. Bella dispatched Jake Anderson 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles while Penados followed with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Wisdell at No. 2. Cavka defeated Ludewig 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 while Stan defeated Barma 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4. Fulmer shutout Kaminski 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 while Reyes dispatched Daniel Anderson 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6.
