LISLE, Ill. – The Elmhurst University women's soccer team fell 4-1 to Benedictine University in a non-conference matchup.
The Eagles struck first in the 16
th minute of play with a goal by Olivia McPherson to take the 1-0 lead.
Victoria Medina scored her first career goal less than three minutes later to tie the game up at one apiece.
Shaye Wolfe netted the final goal of the first half to give Benedictine (4-8-2/2-4-2 NACC) the 2-1 lead at the break.
McPherson tallied a pair of goals in the second half to complete the hattrick.
MaKenzee Velchek collected four saves in 72 minutes of action, while Noemi Reyes and Katherine Prochnow earned the win with two saves.
The Bluejays travel to Rock Island on Wednesday, October 12 to take on the Augustana College Vikings at 7:00 p.m.
