ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst University women's soccer team scored its second win of the season against Alma College 4-1 at Langhorst Field.
Within the first two minutes of play, the Bluejays
led 1-0 after
Lauryn Wesoloski put a high ball into the box off a corner kick and teammate
Hannah Bacon headed the ball into the back of the net.
The Scots responded just six minutes later with a goal of their own. Paige Stephens found teammate Lily Stephan who was able to tally her third goal of the season and tie up the score at one a piece.
Freshman
Kylie Roberts scored her first career goal for the Bluejays in the 29
th minute after receiving a perfectly placed ball from
MJ Lessila across the field.
Just one minute later, Elmhurst's
Gabby Ketola got in on the scoring action by beating an Alma defender and scoring her second goal of the season.
The Bluejays held onto their 3-1 lead until Ketola assisted the second Bacon goal of the contest in the 78
th minute.
Elmhurst goalkeeper
MaKenzee Velchek earned the win with nine saves while Alma goalkeeper Nicole Tuzinowski collected eight saves.
The Bluejays
improved to an overall record of 2-3 and begin conference play at North Central College on Saturday, September 25
th.
