Box Score ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the 2017 season after falling 2-1 to Webster University in double overtime at Langhorst Field.
Elmhurst (2-1-0) nearly won the contest in the first overtime period and played the final 26 minutes with only 10 players after a red card.
Kelsey Hausmann put Webster on the scoreboard first just six minutes into the contest. Hausmann collected a Sydney Tedesco pass and lofted a shot over Elmhurst keeper
Sophia Tuliglowski from six yards out.
Elmhurst pulled even before the half on Heather Hoffman's first collegiate goal. Hoffmann took a
Kennedy Irmen pass and blasted a shot into the back of the net from the top of the box
Playing with just 10 women at the start of overtime, the Bluejays nearly won the contest in the first OT.
Brittany Reinhart's corner kick with 1:30 remaining went through the box and bounced off the goal post.
Joi Wilson gave Webster the win three minutes into the second overtime period. Wilson headed home a pass from Carolyn Ries just under the crossbar to end the contest for the Gorlocks.
Elmhurst outshot Webster 15-12 in the contest.
Tuliglowski recorded three saves in goal for Elmhurst while allowing one goal in 77 minutes.
Bryce Marchetti played the final 26 minutes, surrendering one goal while making one save.
Elmhurst hosts Benedictine University on Wednesday, September 13, at 7:00 p.m.
