MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Elmhurst women's basketball team fell to 2-3 on the season following a 73-63 road loss at Wisconsin Lutheran College.
Elmhurst led by 10 at the half, but the Bluejays could not withstand a barrage of three-pointers in the second half as Wisconsin Lutheran connected on 10 shots from beyond the arc in the second half to pull away for the 10-point win.
Elmhurst used an 8-0 run in the first quarter to open up a six-point lead with just under three minutes left. The Bluejays carried a three-point lead into the second quarter. Leading by four late in the second quarter, the Bluejays closed the half on a 6-0 run to build a 35-25 lead at the half. The Bluejays shot 60.0 percent (6-of-10) from the floor in the second quarter while outscoring Wisconsin Lutheran 15-8.

Wisconsin Lutheran (3-1) came out on fire from behind the arc in the. The Warriors drained three straight three-pointers to start the half, chopping Elmhurst's lead down to one. Elmhurst pushed its lead back up to five with five minutes to play in the third, but the Warriors hit four more threes in the quarter, outscoring Elmhurst 27-9 and building an eight-point lead headed into the fourth.
Two more Wisconsin Lutheran three pointers early in the fourth quarter allowed the Warriors to build a 10-point lead with 7:22 remaining. Five straight points from
Hannah Henderson brought Elmhurst to within five points with just under six minutes left on the clock, but Wisconsin Lutheran slowly built its lead back to eight points. A
Kaela Jones three-pointer cut the deficit down to five with just 1:48 remaining, but Elmhurst came no closer as the Warriors pulled away for the 10-point win down the stretch.

Elmhurst shot 48.9 percent (23-of-47) from the field in the loss, including 40.0 percent (8-of-20) from three-point distance.
Jasmin Bailey came off the bench to lead Elmhurst with 15 points, knocking down five three-pointers.
Lisa Logan scored 14 points while Jones added 12 points and seven rebounds. Mikela Eppard chipped in with 11 points and six rebounds while Henderson also reached double figures in scoring with 11.

Wisconsin Lutheran shot 50 percent from the floor (25-of-50) and 50 percent (12-of-24) from beyond the arc. Caitlin Knueppel led all scorers with 32 points, hitting 10-of-16 from the floor, including 6-of-11 from long distance. Jen Dowden added 20 points and seven rebounds for the Warriors.
