DECATUR, Ill. – The Elmhurst women's basketball team remained unbeaten on the 2016-17 season by scoring a 68-45 win over Westminster College (Mo.) at the CCIW/SLIAC Challenge hosted by Millikin.

Elmhurst (3-0) fell behind early in the fourth quarter and trailed for much of the quarter before a
Lisa Logan free throw gave the Bluejays a 17-16 lead after the end of the first 10 minutes. Westminster (0-3) recaptured the lead early in the second quarter before a pair of
Hannah Lipman free throws put the Bluejays up for good. The free throws were part of a 10-0 run from Elmhurst to give the Bluejays a 30-20 lead with four minutes left in the half. Elmhurst carried a 34-25 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Bluejays led by eight early in the third before using an 11-0 run to extend their lead to 19 at 49-30. The Bluejays carried a 50-31 lead into the fourth quarter. The Bluejays pushed their lead up to as many as 25 points before coasting the 23-point win.

Elmhurst shot 38.3 percent (23-of-60) from the floor, including 39.1 percent (9-of-12) from downtown. The Bluejays won the rebounding battle 37-30.
Mikaela Eppard paced Elmhurst in the win with a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Kaela Jones totaled a game-high 16 points to go with six rebounds.
Hannah Lipman added 14 points and five rebounds while
Becca Gerke came off the bench to score eight for the Bluejays.

Westminster shot 35.7 percent (15-of-42) from the floor, including 36.4 percent (4-of-11) from beyond the arc. Kelsey Ray led Westminster with nine points while Andrea Zalis totaled eight points and nine rebounds.

Elmhurst travels to Aurora University on Tuesday, November 22.
