CHICAGO, Ill. - The Elmhurst women's soccer team closed the book on the 2016 season with a 2-1 victory at North Park University.
Elmhurst concluded the season with a 10-7 overall record and a 2-6 mark in the CCIW.
The Bluejays needed little time to get on the scoreboard as
Kennedy Irmen scored a rebound goal off of a corner kick just 2:20 into the match.Â
North Park (5-11-1, 1-6-1 CCIW) scored the equalizer in the 27th minute off of an Annika Nyquist goal from Emmie Galan.Â
The game was even at one at halftime, but the Bluejays needed less than four minutes in the second half to net the game winner.
Kim Stanczak scored off a
Sidney O'Keeffe assist in the 49th minute to put the game away for the Bluejays.
Elmhurst outshot North Park 23-4 in the contest and enjoyed a 9-1 edge in corner kicks.
Emily Gordon and
Sophia Tuliglowski combined for the victory in goal. Gordon allowed one goal while recording a save. Tuliglowski played the second-half and did not have to stop a shot. Sydney Martinez took the loss in goal for North Park, allowing two goals while recording nine saves.Â
