ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst women's soccer team scored three times in the opening half and cruised to a 4-0 victory over North Park.
With the win, Elmhurst (8-5-2, 3-3 CCIW) sets up a big CCIW road contest with Carthage this Saturday, October 31. The Bluejays need a win or draw against the Lady Reds to advance as the No. 4 seed in the CCIW Tournament.Â
Kim Stanczak put the Bluejays on top 2-0, taking advantage of a pair of rebound opportunities. In the seventh minute,
Anna Garritano ripped a shot that was saved, but landed at the feet of Stanczak. In the tenth minute, it was
Courtney O'Keeffe providing the saved shot that Stanczak finished.Â
Garritano then extended the Elmhurst team in the 17th minute, taking the ball from a defender and finishing to the far post.Â
O'Keeffe netted her sixth goal of the season in the second half to pad the lead.
Sidney O'Keeffe sent a cross-field pass that set up her sister for Elmhurst's fourth goal.Â
Elmhurst out shot North Park 25-6.

Olivia Schoch, and
Bryce Marchetti combined for the Elmhurst shutout, while Meghan Ellis stopped four shots for the Vikings.Â
Elmhurst and Carthage will battle in Kenosha, Wis. for the final spot in the CCIW Tournament this Saturday, October 31 at 5:00 p.m.
