Box Score ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst women's soccer team slipped to 2-2 on the season following a 2-1 loss to Rhodes College.

Rhodes (3-1) did all of its damage in the opening half, and held off a second-half surge from the Bluejays to secure the victory.

Hannah Selner put Rhodes on the scoreboard just 13:04 into the match, connecting off of a feed from Heidi Press. Breanna Durbin tacked on an unassisted tally with 11 seconds remaining in the half to give the Lynx a 2-0 lead at the break.

Elmhurst turned the momentum in the second half, outshooting Rhodes 12-4. The Bluejays cut the lead in half when Shelby Stone netted her first collegiate goal in the 68th minute, banging in a rebound off her own shot. Elmhurst managed three shots in the final 20 minutes, but could not score the equalizer.

The Bluejays outshot the Lynx 15-10 for the match.

Emily Gordon and Olivia Schoch each played a half in goal for Elmhurst. Gordon was tagged for the loss after surrendering two goals while making one save in the first half. Schoch played a scoreless second half, stopping the only shot she faced.

Allison Cowling recorded four saves in net for Rhodes to earn the win.

Elmhurst travels to Lawrence University on Wednesday (September 11)
