Box Score APPLETON, Wis. - The Elmhurst women's soccer team upped its record to 3-2 on the season by scoring a 3-0 shutout win over Lawrence University.
Shelby Stone staked Elmhurst to a 1-0 lead, scoring just 5:37 into the contest off of assists from
Jackie Belmonte and
Biba Beckwith.
The Bluejays tacked on a pair of second-half goals to pull away for the three-goal victory. Kristie Waugh scored off a pass from Courtney O'Keefe in the 72nd minute to give the Bluejays a 2-0 lead.
Jordin Clark put the game out of reach with a goal in the 85th minute off of assists from Belmonte and
Anna Garritano.
Elmhurst controlled the pace of the game from start to finish, outshooting Lawrence 31-4, including a 15-0 edge in the opening half.
Emily Gordon recorded the shutout in goal for the Bluejays by stopping the only shot she faced. Dani Glass stopped 12 shots and allowed three goals while taking the loss in net for Lawrence.
Elmhurst travels to Coe College on Sunday, September 15.
