Box Score ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst women's basketball team dropped its fifth straight contest after falling 78-54 to #25 Carthage College at R.A. Faganel Hall.

Carthage (19-3, 11-0 CCIW) used a 22-8 run to open the game and build a quick 14-point lead. The Lady Reds built a 22-point cushion and led 44-25 at the half.

Carthage slowly built a 30-point cushion in the second half and cruised to the 24-point victory.

Elmhurst shot only 33.3 percent (19-of-57) from the floor in the contest while Carthage shot over 50 percent (30-of-5 for 51.7 percent). The Lady Reds controlled the game in the paint, outscoring Elmhurst 38-16 inside and scoring 15 points on the fast break. The Lady Reds scored 19 points off of 18 Elmhurst turnovers.

Karen Senette led the Bluejays in the loss with 12 points. Fiona McMahon came off the bench to score 12 for Elmhurst while Tess Godhardt and Whitney Shaffer finished with eight points apiece in the loss.

Stephanie Kuzmanic narrowly missed a triple-double, totaling game-highs in points (23), rebounds (13) and assists (nine). Cailee Corcoran added 18 points while Haley Stercic added 10 for the Lady Reds.

Elmhurst (9-13, 3-8 CCIW) travels to North Park University on Saturday (February 9).
