NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Elmhurst wrestling team slid to 1-4 in dual meet competition after dropping three duals to nationally ranked teams at the Gator Boots Duals.

Elmhurst opened the day with a 27-6 loss to ninth-ranked Concordia College (Minn.) before falling 33-14 to third-ranked Messiah College. Elmhust closed the tournament with a 37-3 loss to 12th-ranked Luther College.

CONCORDIA 27, ELMHURST 6 - Elmhurst scored its only points of the dual at 149 pounds and 184 pounds. Ryan Prater blanked Jacob Long 5-0 at 149 pounds to score the Bluejays three team points. Prater, who entered the dual ranked sixth in the nation, shut out long, who entered the tournament ranked, second in the nation. Danny Balderas edged Christian Harrison 3-2 at 184 pounds to account for the Bluejays' final points of the dual. In the other battle of two top-10 wrestlers, Concordia's Cody Kasprick (ranked fourth) edged Elmhurst's Danny Vargas (ranked sixth) 5-2 at 285 pounds.

MESSIAH 33, ELMHURST 14 - Third-ranked Messiah handed Elmhurst its third straight dual loss by winning seven of the 10 contets. Elmhurst won three contests with Prater scoring a second-round pin over Greg Kabakijian (3:45) at 149 pounds. Nick DiNardo upended Jacob English 7-3 at 157 pounds. Danny Vargas scored Elmhurst's final points with a 15-0 technical fall over Luke Weaver at 285 pounds.
