Bluejay Women Topple Beloit 95-66

Box Score BELOIT, Wis. - The Elmhurst women's basketball team remained unbeaten on the season after scoring a 95-66 road win at Beloit College.

Elmhurst (4-0) scored the game's opening basket and never looked back. The Bluejays opened the game on a 17-7 run over the first seven minutes to take a quick 10-point lead. Leading 24-14 midway through the half, the Bluejays closed the half on a 25-15 run to take a 49-29 lead at the half.

The Bluejays led by as many as 35 points in the second half and cruised to the 95-66 victory.

Elmhurst shot a whopping 55.7 percent (39-of-70) from the floor, including 43.8 percent (7-of-16) from three-point range. Elmhurst committed just 13 turnovers while forcing Beloit (0-2) into 20 turnovers.

Melanie Schwerdtmann continued her red-hot start to the season, scoring a team-leading 22 points while shooting 8-of-9 from the floor. Schwerdtmann also collected a team-leading seven rebounds in the win. Karen Senette added a season-high 19 points, shooting 8-of-12 from the floor. Hannah Limpan added a season-high 17 points whole hitting 7-of-12 shots from the field. Whitney Shaffer came off the bench to score 11 for the Bluejays. Ten different Bluejays totaled points for Elmhurst in the win.

Beloit finished the contest shooting 40.4 percent (23-of-57) from the field. Lana Wiesman scored a game-high 24 points while also pulling down six rebounds for the Buccaneers.

Elmhurst travels to Wisconsin-Whitewater on December 4.
