Elmhurst wasted little time jumping on the scoreboard as the Bluejays grabbed a 1-0 lead in the eighth minute of a play. After an Elmhurst shot was saved, Alyssa Angelo chipped the rebound in front of the net where Katie Baschen volleyed home the goal to stake the Bluejays to a 1-0 lead.

The Bluejays made the one goal lead stand up through the opening half, taking a one-goal lead into halftime. In the second half the wind picked up and the skies opened up with rain, but two goals in a five minute span helped put the game away for the Bluejays.

In the 52nd minute, Ali Siebel sent a long pass to just outside of the box. Amy Baschen headed the ball into the box to an open Shannon Pimmel and Pimmel found the back of the net to give Elmhurst a two-goal cushion.

Less than five minutes later, Samantha Perry boomed a 30-yard strike into the top of the net just over the hands of Dominican keeper Sara Stepanovich to put Elmhurst on top 3-0.
