Box Score ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst women's soccer team slipped to 0-1-1 in CCIW play after suffering a 2-0 loss to North Central College at Berens Park.
The win by North Central (4-6-1, 1-1-0 CCIW) was the Cardinals first win against Elmhurst (6-3-2 overall) after entering the game with an 0-16 mark against the Bluejays.
North Central's Hope Stayer scored a pair of second half goals to account for the game's only offense. Stayer scored in the 63rd minute by chipping a Mackenzie Wenger throw in over Elmhurst keeper

Stayer put the game away in the 89th minute with her eighth goal of the season.
Elmhurst outshot North Central 14-7 but the Bluejays couldn't find the back of the net. A team save by the Cardinals on a corner kick kept Elmhurst off the scoreboard in the opening half.
Amy Baschen had a shot go off the goal post in the first half.
Fitzpatrick stopped three shots in goal for the Bluejays while Jacqueline Clore recorded five saves for the Cardinals.
Elmhurst hosts Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday (October 6).
