Women's Soccer Shuts Down Albion

ELMHURST, Illinois -
Valerie Wesley tallied a pair of goals as the Elmhurst College Women's Soccer Team rolled to a 5-0 win over Albion on Sunday afternoon.

Wesley's first tally came in the ninth minute of the match, an unassisted finder from the left corner, handing Elmhurst the early lead. The Bluejays added two more in the first half with Amy Baschen beating the keeper in the 26th minute and freshman Kylie McArthur notching the first goal of her career in the 33rd minute.

Wesley's second tally came in the 51st minute, finishing a long run with her third of the season. Sophomore Shelly Shapasian capped the scoring in the 79th minute with her first collegiate goal, planting a feed from Kristen Plyer into the back of the net.

Elmhurst (3-1) posted 13 shots in each half for a total of 26, outshooting Albion 26-4 in the contest with 17 shots on goal. Maddie Fitzpatrick and Jenna Zawojski each played a half in goal, posting a save in each frame. The Bluejays travel to Greenville on Saturday.
