CHICAGO, Ill. - The Elmhurst College women's basketball team improved to 10-6 overall and 3-2 in CCIW play following a 70-48 road victory at North Park University.

Elmhurst led 37-22 at halftime and built a 28-point lead in the second half while cruising to the 70-48 win.

The Bluejays shot 38.7 percent (24-of-62) from the floor, including 37.5 percent (3-of-8) from downtown. North Park (3-12, 0-5 CCIW) shot 35.4 percent (17-of-48) from the field, and 30.0 percent (3-of-10) from beyond the arc.

The Bluejays dominated on the glass, outrebounding North Park 48-28. Elmhurst converted 17 North Park turnovers into 18 points.

Fourteen different players scored for the Bluejays in the victory. Meghan Merklein came off the bench to lead the Bluejays with 13 points and three assists. Lyndsie Long added 12 points and eight rebounds while Maggie McTeague added eight points and five rebounds. Laurel Benson, Brittany Bobruk, Anna Randazzo, and Jen Myers all added five points apiece in the victory.

North Park was led by LaRae Costreva's 14-point and eight-rebound performance. Styliane Damianides and Hilary Kuhl added eight points each in the loss.

Elmhurst travels to top-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University on Tuesday, January 27.
